The Young Child . . . a time of wonder.
-
Kindergarten
In the tradition of Waldorf and Charlotte Mason, kindergarten at Growing Roots is a time of wonder. Children listen to stories, learn poetry, explore nature, music, and beautiful art. Developing the habits of attention, imagination, good attitude, self-control, responsibility, quality work, courage, and service creates a solid foundation for informal lessons the following year.

First & Second Grades
The goal for grades one and two is to cultivate attention, best effort, and a love for knowledge while recognizing each child's unique personality and learning style. Through the introduction of varied ideas and subjects, each learner is encouraged to form a personal relationship with knowledge.
Exposure to art, music, and handicrafts broadens the curriculum and fosters creativity. Children observe and learn from nature through direct experience, keeping nature journals, and reading nature-themed literature
